Meetings/Shows
Meetings of the NEBS are held at the Kilburn Community Hall, 49 Le hunt St., Kilburn, on the second Wednesday of each month at 8.00pm. At these meetings guest speakers keep members up to date with the latest developments in the budgerigar fancy.
At most of these meetings a night show competition is held with the aim of showing and preparing birds for Major Shows (unless the temperature is forecast to be above 32 degrees).
Members compete in the following categories: Open, Intermediate, Novice and Junior. Prizes are awarded for the best bird in each category and also for the “ Best Bird of the Night “ in a designated variety.
Some monthly meetings are devoted to Mini Shows and Club Auctions and our December meeting is devoted to members enjoying a Christmas celebration function.
An annual Syllabus is issued to members showing the events for the next tweve months.
A number of major shows are held during the year (weather policy applies) and the objectives of these shows are to promote the hobby and the improvement of birds amongst our members.
All shows held during the year are open to any person who is a member of the NEBS and several of these shows are also open to all other members of the BCSA.
