ANBC 2022 Update Information Advice No. 3

46th ANBC, Friday May 27th – Sunday May 29th

Continuing contact with the owners of our preferred venue the Grand Chancellor located in Hindley Street Adelaide CBD indicates they remain due to complete their Covid 19 Travellers contract with SA Health. They will close all aspects of operations during January to ensure Covid free operations, including bookings, recommence from the 1st February 2022.

Last month all States and Zones indicated their willingness to compete with the obvious caveat of govt / state regulations at that time.

At the last meeting with the Grand Chancellor it was made quite clear that any visitors will require a FULL VACCINATION CERTIFICATE before entry to the venue.

We suggest that this full vaccination will by that time be determined as two shots plus the booster so you should be prepared and up to date in this area. We would not like to see you at the airport or front door and be turned away.

Room bookings can commence from 1st February and the standard pricing will be $160 per night for a single, twin or king room and $18 a head for a sumptuous hot breakfast in the bistro. Bookings must be recorded under the code BCSA so please quote when booking.

A Registration form will be listed on the web sites (BCSA & ANBC) as soon as we have updated details of the menu and we would expect this very early in February.

If Government imposed legislations are such that the event was cancelled the venue has assured us that a refund policy would apply.

That is the positive news and now we have Omicron.

Very few would understand the pressure this now puts on the BCSA / ANBC as we enter this new phase of this insidious pandemic. All will surely understand this places a whole new outlook on the National event than we had perceived merely some 4 weeks ago.

Further update will issue in January.
